This covers every pane except the windshield: doors, quarter and vent windows, sunroof and moonroof panels, and back glass. Most run $200 to $500. Side and rear fits take about an hour once the part is here, which is usually a day or two after we order against your VIN.

Larchmont sees more sunroof and moonroof work than most of the towns around it, which is largely a function of what people drive here and how much of it sits outside under trees. A moonroof panel is bonded glass in a moving frame, so replacing one is closer to a windshield job than a door glass job. It gets set in fresh urethane, carries a safe drive-away time, and then has to be checked through its full range of travel to confirm it still tilts, slides and seals as it should.
Door glass is the other end of the scale. Tempered side windows clamp to the regulator and run in a channel, so there is no adhesive, no cure, and the car leaves as soon as the window has been cycled and tested. Back glass sits between the two, bonded like a windshield and usually carrying a defroster grid, sometimes an antenna, both of which get reconnected and proved before handover. Whatever the pane, we order against the VIN and quote the factory-specification glass alongside a good aftermarket one, so the price and the choice are both visible before anything is bought.
“Stained glass on our front door needed cleaning and resealing. Work was done by another company but seal broke again. Diamond did the job and the triple pane glass came out crystal clear equal to or better than new. Work was performed by…”

Manor Park and the streets running down to the water put a lot of Larchmont cars under mature trees within sight of the Sound, and that combination is hard on glass that is not a windshield. Limbs come down in storms onto roof panels and rear glass rather than onto the front of the car, which is why we replace proportionally more moonroof panels and back glass here. Salt air works on the rubber seals and channels around door windows too, and a channel that has hardened does the pane no favours. The upside is proximity. Under ten minutes on the Post Road means you can leave the car for the hour a side or rear pane takes and be back before the school run, without anyone needing to arrange a lift.

Rarely. In most cases the glass panel itself is a separate part from the frame and mechanism, so we replace the panel, bond it in and then test the full travel to confirm nothing else was damaged when the branch landed. If the frame or the tracks are bent the job gets bigger, and we would tell you that after looking rather than guessing on the phone.
It does, because the heating grid is printed into the glass itself and the new pane arrives with its own. What has to be right is the connection at the tabs on each side, which we solder or clip depending on the design and then test before the car leaves. Same with any antenna printed into the pane. We check reception rather than assuming the connector went back on correctly.
