Rear glass is where this job gets interesting, and Larchmont sends us more of it than the average town. A back window is bonded in with urethane rather than dropped into a channel, so it is closer to a windshield in method than to a door glass. It also usually carries a defroster grid printed into it and often a radio antenna as well, and both of those live or die on the connections at the tabs.
We remake those connections properly and then test them, because a rear window that goes in beautifully and never clears in January is a failure regardless of how the glass looks. The bonding follows the same discipline as a windshield: old urethane trimmed back to an even base, any bare metal primed, one continuous bead, and a real safe drive-away time given afterwards. Door glass is the simpler half of the category and takes about an hour, with the card off, the cavity vacuumed, the pane clamped into the regulator and the window cycled through its full travel before you leave.
