Pelham is close enough that we treat it as an extension of the neighbourhood. Boston Post Road runs straight out of our block and into Pelham Manor, and the village side around Fifth Avenue and Wolfs Lane is barely a few minutes further. Much of what arrives from 10803 is leased metal picking up highway chips on the Hutchinson River Parkway, which forms the western edge of town and funnels most of Pelham onto the Cross County every morning.
Those are exactly the cars people assume have to go back to a franchise service department. They do not. We pull the VIN, confirm whether the windshield carries a rain sensor, an acoustic interlayer or a camera bracket, and order the pane built to that spec. Head east on Boston Post Road and stay on it. It becomes Main Street once you cross into New Rochelle, and we are in the 500 block, on the downtown stretch a short walk from the platform. From the village centre that is about three miles, usually eight to ten minutes outside rush hour. There is metered parking directly in front and a municipal garage a block away.
